Contracts Administrator

Location: Flin Flon, MB, Canada

Description:

PRIMARY FUNCTION

Overall administration of contracts and procedures following the company's processes, applicable laws and customer requirements. This includes overseeing the execution of Request For Proposals/Quotations and the preparation of Contracts for signature by company officers all as outlined below.

PARAMETERS OF RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conceive, develop, and deliver techniques, practices, and procedures for contract formation and administration in a manner that best protects company interests.
  • Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communications with the organization's executives, legal counsel, department heads, and end users regarding pertinent contract activities.
  • Develop, establish, implement, and enforce guidelines, obligations, and service level agreements to the organization.
  • Serve as a point of contact with the contractors for formal communications of a contractual nature.
  • Investigates and resolves claims or complaints by collecting and analyzing information.
  • Develop and deliver contract reports, bid proposals, required documentation, and tender documents.
  • Supervise subordinates.
  • Evaluate pre-qualification responses and prepare report for bid list approval.
  • Review bids and perform detailed bid analysis and ensure recommendation of selected bidder, is properly signed off and authorized.
  • Negotiate complex contract requirements in accordance with legal and company regulations and policies, being fair and diplomatic.
SKILLS REQUIRED
  • Behaves with honesty and integrity.
  • University degree or college diploma in the field of Business Administration and/or Engineering.
  • 5 - 8 years direct work experience in a contract administration capacity, including all aspects of strategy development and execution.
  • Strong knowledge of North American contract regulations and laws, including WCB; Insurance; Builders Lien Act - Statutory Declarations; Taxation; bid and performance bonding.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure and high-volume environment.
  • Solid working knowledge of current computer technologies, including Excel, Word, Powerpoint.
  • Strong inter-personal skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, and be a demonstrated self-starter.
