District Applications Specialist (Sales)
Location: Three positions: One in London, One in Toronto and one for the Hamilton - Niagara district
Salary: 55K - 75K + bonus
Description:
Responsibilities:
- To introduce, promote and subsequently sell the full compliment of products within our scope of supply.
- To meet/exceed territory sales quotas as established by the District Sales Manager and/or Director of Sales & Marketing.
- Where applicable, work with Target Industry Project Manager (TIS) and Director of Sales & Marketing to implement global/national account strategies in order to achieve program objectives.
- Differentiate company from other component vendors by building “partner” relationships with customers.
- To proactively utilize all resources and sales tools to maximize productivity, responsiveness and customer delight.
- Demonstrate technical competence on all products/solutions/technical publications within area of focus.
- To help and assist (through training and scheduled joint sales visits) our Distributor’s Sales force, so that we may maintain and secure our existing customers and in addition access new customers and markets.
- To make regular sales visits to all the accounts that purchase our products either directly with the company or through one of our Distributors.
- Qualify and follow-up on all leads within assigned territory and/or account portfolio.
- Follow-up on all quotations within assigned territory and/or account portfolio.
- Independently and/or in conjunction with regional management, develop and implement effective Mutual Action Plans with assigned distributor locations.
- Responsible for all sales related activities within assigned territory, with a focus on all control cabinet, machine mounted, and industrial networking solutions.
- Drive value-added/custom solutions within assigned account base, comprised primarily of industrial OEMs, local end users and project business.
- Become proficient on all control cabinet, machine mounted and industrial networking applications and our corresponding solutions, to the point of being considered a consultant by the market.
- To maintain accurate up-to-date records of all pertinent communications with Customers and Distributors respectively.
- To fully understand “real world” applications opportunities for all of our existing products and subsequently to develop an understanding of applications for new products being introduced.
- To actively pursue new business opportunities by diligent follow-up of all sales leads, inquiries resulting from our advertising, press release and trade show participation.
- To report any/all information on competitor activity to the District Sales Manager.
- To participate at trade shows and product presentations whenever necessary.
- To provide forecasts and reports to DSM as required.
- Be proficient in, and drive the use of all sales tools provided to support local markets.
- Effectively communicate with the entire company team, both verbally and written.
- Any other duties or functions as assigned by the District Sales Manager.
Qualification Requirements:
- Two five years industry experience in a Sales environment.
- Good communication skills (personal, presentation and telephone).
- Excellent organizational skills.
- A definite team player.
- Dynamic and self motivated and the desire to succeed.
- Computer literate.
- Able to undertake many tasks and be able to prioritise and react to the immediate needs of the business.
- Experience working with distribution preferred.
Essential Job Requirements:
- Must be able to travel.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to travel via automobile for up to six hours at a time.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. (sample case, literature)
- Must be able to travel overnight 20-25% as dictated by assigned territory.
- Comply with company dress code guidelines.
- Punctuality is required.
- Attendance in accordance with company policies.
