Plant Manager

Location: Guelph, Ontario

Description:

The plant manager must effectively organize, lead and manage all functional elements of the Guelph plant. The plant manager must embrace corporate, group, and divisional initiatives including EBE, EBS, QOS and APEX. The plant manager will maintain a workforce for highly motivated employees with a morale that is conducive to remaining non-union with performance being measured at or above minimum acceptable levels, drive performance to achieve or exceed financial plans and strategic goals. The plant manager operates within the overall framework of our strategies, set objectives, and procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  1. Sets overall plant policies and procedures to ensure effective operations consistent with our Business System, Values and Philosophy
  2. Coordinates and directs through managers, all functions of facility operations, including but not limited to Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, SCM, OpEx, HR and Finance
  3. Aligns operational objectives with the overall business objectives to ensure a strategy-focused workforce
  4. Manages and operating performance through the effective use of the Quality Operating System (QOS) process and structured problem solving
  5. Directs and mentors Guelph leadership team in the performance of their respective roles and consistent with our Leadership model
  6. Fosters an environment which promotes Our company's goals, encourages continuous improvement, and builds customer relationships
  7. Drives the compliance to the ethics policy and holds others accountable for ethical conduct
  8. Develops controls and critically reviews results of operation in reference to planned objectives
  9. Accountable for the day-to-day decisions that directly impact the quality, efficiency, and profitability of the overall plant
  10. Maintains a workforce of highly motivated employees with a morale that is conducive to remaining non-union with performance being measured at or above minimum acceptable levels
  11. Attracts, selects, develops, trains, coaches, appraises and motivates managers and other personnel for key staff positions and the facility
  12. Represents the company in the local community to enhance its image and reputation
Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum of a BA/BS degree required
  • Minimum 8 years manufacturing leadership experience required
