Welding Engineer
Description:
- We are looking for a Welding Engineer for our fabrication facility
- May perform experimental welding to evaluate new equipment, techniques and materials.
- Directs the testing and evaluating of welding equipment
- Evaluates data and conducts experiments to develop application of new equipment or improved techniques, procedures or practices
- Recommends adoption of new developments and applications to engineering, Q.A. and welding personnel and demonstrates the practicality of recommendations
- Makes recommendations based on sound engineering principles, practices and judgment pertaining to specific engineering problems
- Supervises the Inspection of welded joints and testing to assure welds meet Q.A. standards; code requirements and customer job specifications
- Performs in-house training of welding and Q.A./Q.C. personnel
- Ensures that environmental aspects within his/her sphere of responsibility are adhered to pursuant to ISO 14001 requirements
- Maintains up to date knowledge and awareness of welding processes, procedures and practices affecting welding practices in the fabrication facility
- Maintains knowledge of technical code requirements, material specifications and scheduling
- Ensures compliance with code and contractual obligations
- Monitors and Ensures Quality
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering
- Professional Engineering License
- Detailed knowledge of Welding and Q.A. Codes and Standards including ASME, CSA, ASTM, API and ANSI Standards and Codes
- Certification to CSA W47.1/W59.1 an asset
- Metallurgical background preferred
